GIS Counseling Office Hours

The counseling office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Parents if you need to speak to your students counselor please send them an email or call them directly to the extension listed below their names. 

Our Mission

To provide all students with opportunities to grow in all areas of academic achievement, personal and social development, and be prepared with the knowledge and skills for college and career success that will lead and empower them to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and problem solvers who are engaged and committed members of the community. 

Our Vision

School counselors will work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and the community to create a safe and caring environment where students work together to celebrate differences and similarities amongst each other in order to build a positive school climate where students feel they can be themselves, develop healthy relationships and learn how to navigate life’s successes and challenges to become confident, productive members of a global society.

Services

School counselors are certified/licensed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that focuses on the following school counseling standards:

  • academic
  • college/career 
  • social/emotional

School Counselors provide the following counseling services:

  • Prevention: Classroom lessons for all students in every grade level.
  • Small groups: Opportunities to help students develop various skills to be academically successful in a smaller group setting.
  • Individual Student Planning: Academic Goal setting
  • Short-term counseling: To address immediate student needs
  • Community resources and outside referrals
